My new look

I'm not one to post a lot of photos of myself here . I don't want to frighten visitors to my blog afterall LOL. Today I am taking the plunge and showing you my new haircut. I don't spend a lot of time fussing with my hair, and tend to put off getting it cut for too long. I just never seem to like it no matter the style I choose.

This morning I couldn't stand it anymore. My hair is so flat and straight . It was feeling too heavy and sticking to me with all this humidity and wet weather this week. SO....off I went to the hairdresser.

I took a before and after photo in the mirror hence the poor quality and lighting. BUT, what do ya think ? I'm not sure what I think of it yet, but does it ever feel light and fluffy ;)

Beauty in the rain

I have to admit I am feeling a little soggy today. It has been raining , and foggy for 5 days now. This weather makes me so tired and listless. It isn't exactly what we would call Summer weather. I decided I had to grab my camera and find something beautiful in this weather. I was excited by what I found and wanted to share it here. I hope you don't mind more nature pictures....I just can't help myself LOL.

Oh, yes there is another bear cut out waiting to be brought to life soon too.

New Branding

I mentioned way back in January that I wanted to change my "branding". I asked others if they thought this was a good or bad idea. The opinions varied :) As an artist, I was getting very bored with my business colors, fonts, cards, etc. But, I was concerned if a change would have any negative impact. Hey the BIG companies do it so why not. I expect most people really don't care, as they are interest in my bears not the tags, but I care. I sat at my computer MANY times over the past few months, designing, changing but never settled on anything concrete.

So, many hours later this is what I came up with. I didn't drastically change my hangtags, or labels, just mainly the colors. My business cards are totally new. I was tired of trying to explain to people what I "do". I thought including photos of some current bears might help explain what a soft sculpture/bears artist does. I know many people think I make "toy teddy bears".

I was excited to receive my new business cards today . The colors are a bit different than they appeared on my screen , but they will do nicely. I chose soft , earthy tones of sage green and browns. The photo doesn't do them justice at all, but you get the idea ! So what do you think ?

Staying Focused

I am hoping that life will be back to "normal" this week. I am trying my best to stay focused on bears without interruptions. But, I know in all reality, that that is asking a lot ! Life happens, and the bears need to take a backseat sometimes. Some interruptions are welcomed and others, not so much.

The past couple of days I just needed to unwind so spent time on one of my other favorite hobbies- photography & digital editing. My daughter and I bought a digital SLR a couple of weeks ago and it keeps calling my name LOL. I've also been doing some graphic design work for my church too so that is a fun way to combine photography and graphics. I could get lost for days in that stuff ! I absolutely love it.
However, this week the "Focus" must be on bears , not the flowers in my garden ! School will be over in a few weeks and my bear production always seems to slow down in the summer when the kids are home.

Here are couple of pics to to enjoy until I have a bear to show.

Of course, I have to include the beautiful raibows I saw the other day. Can you see 3 ???
